Neuro Visit
Double post in one day. Amazing!
I went to see the Neurologist yesterday for a routine 6 month checkup. I told him that I was interested in switching to Topamax, and he didn't have a problem with that. I've got a scrip for the 25mg pill and instructions on how to titrate up. I'll also be cutting out the Effexor XR once the Topamax arrives.
Still generally headache free. I've had a sinus thing over the past few days, but it seems to be gone, now. I'll take sinus pain over a migraine any day of the week, though.

Hey Rob,
I've been on topamax for a while. Titrate slowly...wait for the tingling in the hands and feet to stop before going to the next level, watch the carbs, they will make you ill for the first couple of weeks, but this too shall pass....best med I ever went on, but I had to be very patient as I titrated up. Sorry, bad pain day...writing in stream of consciousness, lol. Seriously...let me know if you have any questions about it.

No tingling yet at 25mg, but if someone could stop the world from randomly spinning every 10-15 seconds, I would appreciate it!
I'm definitely looking forward to this medication taking effect. Stopping the Effexor and starting the Topamax put me into a spin of two pretty bad migranes.
Thanks for the comments. I definitely understand the "stream of consciousness" approach when the head is pounding.
